Outdoor Skills Session

Field Hockey Nova Scotia will be running outdoor field hockey skills sessions for girls 8 - 18. The athletes will receive 3 two hour sessions focusing on the skills required for the outdoor game (i.e. hitting, spacing, flicks, etc.).  No experience is necessary.

The program will be focusing specifically on individual skill development so each athlete will be starting at their own skill level.  The program will be run by Nova Scotia U18 Provincial Team Coach Janet Heppell along with several former provincial players.


The athletes will be broken up into groups based on their age and experience therefore the needs of each athlete will be met relevant to their background in the sport.  The program can be used for: a warm up for the provincial season, intro to the sport or general interest.

Dates:   April 20, 27th and May 4th

Time:  7:00 – 9:00pm, except May 4th is 7:00pm-8:30pm

Location:   Sackville Sports Stadium, 409 Glendale Dr.

Cost:   $35 if you register by April 19th OR $50 if you register on April 20th or later

3rd Annual Nancy Tokaryk Memorial Golf Tournament

The Registration for the 3rd Annual Nancy Tokaryk Memorial Golf Tournament is now open.  Please find the registration form attached.  Your registration fee includes a donation to the Nancy Tokaryk Memorial Trust Fund which has been established to commemorate Nancy's contribution to the sport of women's field hockey, her personal leadership, student mentorship, and volunteer community services in the form of a scholarship.

Individual Skill Development Program

The program is designed for girls in grades 4 to 12.  The program will have a focus on developing individual skills (ball handling, passing/receiving, shooting and footwork).  Goaltending instructions will be available as well, please indicate on the registration form if you are a goalie.  

The four week program will be running from January 11, 2015 until February 1, 2015 from 5:00pm – 6:30pm at Armbrae Academy, 1400 Oxford Street in Halifax.

The cost is $45 (prior to January 11) and includes a program t-shirt.  All sticks and goalie gear will be provided, all players must bring shin guards and mouth guards.

Field Hockey Nova Scotia is offering opportunities for girls to learn and develop their indoor field hockey skills

Field Hockey Nova Scotia is offering opportunities for girls to learn and develop their indoor field hockey skills throughout 2014-2015 season.

These programs are for girls in junior or senior high, prior experience is not necessary.  Multiple coaches and former provincial players will be present to ensure the needs and skill sets of all athletes will be met.
