These videos cover the interpretations of how the Self Pass rule works for Outdoor hockey. However, the principles are the same for Indoor hockey.

  • instead of 7 yds, assume 3m
  • instead of 25 yds,  assume half

    Obstruction1 Attacker has possession of ball; defenders try to play the ball without first playing attacker's body or stick but can't. Defender cannot move anywhere. Stalemate - bully
    Obstruction2 Defender not in a good position to play the ball without making contact with attacker's body or stick. No obstruction.
    Obstruction3 Although it appearc that the attacker moved his body between the defender and the ball, defender did not attempt to play the ball so no foul.
